Taylor's pioneered white port over 50 years ago. First blended in 1934, chip dry is made from selected dry white ports from douro superior grapes. Malvasia fina is the main variety. Chip dry is dry because the spirit used to halt fortification is applied later than in most port styles - leaving a low level of residual sugar in the finished wine. Individual wines are held separately until blending just prior to bottling. |
