Situated on the 'bages' plateau of pauillac, chateau grand-puy-lacoste shares its perfect "terroir" with prestigious winery chateau lynch-bages. Chateau ducru-beaucaillou's jean-eugene borie owns the property, but it's his son xavier who is at the helm of the wine production. Since xavier's involvement the winery has been going from strength to strength - robert parker says, "grand-puy-lacoste has surged to the forefront of leading pauillacs". Voted decanter's wine of the year in 2007, chateau grand-puy-lacoste 2004 exhibits "subtle aromas of currant, berries and vanilla follow through to a full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a long finish."
