The balvenie portwood 1991 is a limited edition. Following the success of the limited edition portwood 1989, david stewart the balvenie malt master selected a number of traditional whisky casks of the balvenie distilled in nineteen ninety one that were considered perfect for further maturation in port pipes. This has created a single malt scotch whisky that is rich and fruity and long in the finish. This nose is a perfume of fruity and ripe raisin notes, and hints of vanilla and oak with a nutty dryness. The taste creamy, almost silky with rich fruits, honey and notes of spice. The finish is long, gentle and nutty. |
