Colour: deep amber. Tasting notes, undiluted: nose: sweet, sherry with herbal notes - cut grass and bracken. Some rich fruit cake notes - christmas pudding with a hint of brandy. Palate: spicy with hints of menthol and eucalyptus. Some sherry sweetness with a charred oak edge. With water: nose: sherry with strong fruit notes apple and cinnamon. Some chocolate and tobacco leaf aromas also present. Rounded. Palate: sherry and menthol with hints of cloves. A hint of peat smoke with the burnt fruit flavours developing. Body: big and complex. Palate: sherry and spices. Cask type: refill sherry butt. Style: rich and smooth - an ideal nightcap. |
