In early to midsummer, tall spikes of up to 50 nodding turkscap flowers in shades of yellow are produced above whorls of dark green leaves. The blooms are strongly scented. It is an ideal bulb for naturalising in woodlands where it will happily grow in the shade.The rspca have recently reported that all parts of lilies can be fatal to cats, including the flower, leaves and pollen.
