Masses of cupped, fully double, white flowers from july to september on an upright, bushy shrub. This lovely white version of the gorgeous 'mary rose' has all the attributes of its parent except the flowers are white, sometimes with a slight touch of buff pink in the centre. The blooms are producedon regular intervals throughout the season and look superb with purpleand blue flowered plants.Position: full sun or partial shadesoil: fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soilrate of growth: averageflowering period: july to septemberflower colour: whiteother features: excellent cut flowershardiness: fully hardygarden care: before planting shorten thick roots to 25cm (10in) and reduce top-growth to an outward-facing bud 8-15cm (3-6in) above ground-level. Plant during a frost-free spell, incorporating well-rotted organic matter and a balanced fertiliser into the planting hole. Ensure that the 'bud union' (the bulge at the base of the shoots) is 2.5Cm (1in) below the soilall our roses are grown in a field then dug up andput in a pot. This means that they will not have produced any new roots while in the pot until spring. This is standard practice for roses at this time of year. |
